Founded at the turn of the millennium, Manduka® has always been a company that put its customers and the environment above all else. Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, stumbled upon a simple, yet elegantly created mat that completely revolutionized the way he practiced yoga. This revelation was the inspiration for the whole Manduka yoga line.
Sterios' creation would not have been possible without the help of his generous yoga teachers. As a form of appreciation he sent a mat to many of the yoga teachers he admired including Rod Stryker, Erich Schiffmann, Victor Van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. As a traditional practice in yoga, these teachers shared these mats with their students and from there the word spread.
Manduka, derived from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana, is named as a tribute to Sterios' yoga mentor, Shandor Remete. The delight he took in hearing the word roll of his tongue helped him solidify the faith he had in his new company. From there the joy has spread to over 35 countries worldwide.
More than anything though, Manduka's commitment to quality and sustainability is unmatched in the yoga industry. Every detail and every decision is made with sustainability in mind. I have always heard great things about Manduka leggings, but I don't typically want to spend over 50 on leggings unless they are really unique. I was super excited to see these on sale. I figured I would at least try them and OH BOY am I glad that I did! Theses are very soft, very stretchy, and the waist it actually high enough to go over my belly button! They are very flattering for not having any fancy butt stitching.

I cannot say enough how much I love these leggings they fit to a T. I was hesitant at first due to pricing but the way that they shape your body and that they’re high waisted plus bonus pockets on both sides. Those pockets alone have saved me being able to slip my phone inside and still look slim and trim. Sometimes I dress up and put on a pair of boots with heels and sometimes I dress down as a pair sneakers these leggings are worth every penny. My only advice is to wash inside out be careful what you’re washing with and I air dry. Last piece of advice I’ve ditched lint roller brushes along time ago anywhere from $8-$15 you can find an electric machine to remove the lint and I take it everywhere with me. Works great I’m getting the lint off of these pants. You may get dressed in your bedroom and think that you’re yoga pants look good but out in the sun you’re probably full of lint and it’s not very attractive. Hats off to Yoga Outlet and these performance high waisted pocket yoga pants and right now on sale!!!
