So, I bought a Tapas Mat over 20 years ago because it had a nice light green/grey color that fit my tiny NYC appartement. I haven't done a lot of yoga over the years since I got more into running but still carry this mat around and used it on and off. Lately I decided to get back into Ashtanga Yoga regularly so got the old mat out... It still has beautiful as when I first got it, besides the little bite marks from my adorable kitty (gives it personality). Still, I decided to get a second one so I could have one to carry around to my cross training class.... I started looking but all the mats I touched didn't feel right to me. This mat is just perfect: thin enough but cushiony and the stickiness of it you can't find elsewhere. Ashtanga is challenging and last thing you want is to slip and hurt yourself. So after researching I figured out that they still made the same mat! For me even being 5’-10, I will stick with the 68inch long one because I am used to it and never ran out of space on it but it’s nice to be able to get a longer one if needed. So forget about the online reviews about the best yoga mats… this is the best yoga mat!

Lightweight, easy to store and transport from home to yoga studio. Better on sprung floors with some give than on concrete foundation floors. Too new to determine how well it will stand the test of time. All good so far.

I do not practice yoga. I bought this mat to use for my warm up calisthenics in the gym after cardio and before resistance exercises. I needed the length, which is perfect because I am 5’10”. The mat sticks to floor during dynamic exercises. It is thick enough without being too thick. I love the color. It is easy to clean sweat off the mat, and it does not absorb sweat.
