It is sticky but I would not recommended to use it on carpet as I do. It becomes too soft. It would nice open wood floor.

I am 5’ 8”. My new mat is long enough that I can go through class without repositioning on the mat - just what I was looking for. I’m not sure why it is called “ultra thick”. It isn’t particularly thick at all.
