Founded at the turn of the millennium, Manduka® has always been a company that put its customers and the environment above all else. Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, stumbled upon a simple, yet elegantly created mat that completely revolutionized the way he practiced yoga. This revelation was the inspiration for the whole Manduka yoga line.
Sterios' creation would not have been possible without the help of his generous yoga teachers. As a form of appreciation he sent a mat to many of the yoga teachers he admired including Rod Stryker, Erich Schiffmann, Victor Van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Rodney Yee, and Shiva Rea. As a traditional practice in yoga, these teachers shared these mats with their students and from there the word spread.
Manduka, derived from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika pose, Mandukasana, is named as a tribute to Sterios' yoga mentor, Shandor Remete. The delight he took in hearing the word roll of his tongue helped him solidify the faith he had in his new company. From there the joy has spread to over 35 countries worldwide.

I ordered this top to wear lifting weights. Very nice top, good quality and nice color. Just wished I would have found when more colors were available. Provides enough coverage on top so you can bend over without exposing cleavage. Long enough, just below belly button, so only exposing minimal skin at midriff when raising arms, bending over, etc. I will be watching for the same or similar top in different colors.

I bought the royal blue color and the white/grey striped one and they are so perfect. Its a thicker top which helps hold everything in and is very flattering. I am a 34B with a wider ribcage and always think I need to go medium, but I chose a small in both of these and I'm so glad I did because they're the right amount of tightness for working out. I wouldn't do intense cardio in these without another bra underneath, but as far as walking, yoga or weight lifting goes, these stay nicely in place.

This seems like a really good quality top. The material is soft and not too spandex-y, and feels like it has cotton even though it doesn't. It seems true to size. For reference, I have a 32" bust and 24" waist. I went with a small because I wanted a bit of a looser feel, and I love the fit. Probably could have gone with an x-small but it seems like if it was any tighter it would've bunched with my movement (I belly dance). I definitely would not wear this top without a bra (which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5). The description makes it sound like it is thick enough to wear without a bra but even though it is a relatively thick top I still do not find that it preserves modesty. Another downside is that the cut of the top may make it tricky to find an appropriate bra for underneath. Fortunately, Manduka has a halter bra that I also ordered and it fits perfectly under this top!
