It has a good grip texture, so it is excellent for everything from exercising to yoga. It is a thicker mat, 5mm, so i know I will have enough cushion if I am cross-training with an exercise where I have to kneel. I would not buy this thickness if you will need to travel around with it though, it is a little heavy for that. I would go with a 3mm otherwise if you will be moving around with it to different places.

I am not one to complain but I do not enjoy this yoga mat at all. it is too thin and cheaply made. I thought this would be a great purchase but I recommend spending more money or taking the measurements on the thickness with a grain of salt.
